Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton
Kia ora e te whānau,
We’ve had a wonderful week of learning, faith, and community connection. Thank you for your continued support in making St. Pius X such a welcoming and vibrant place for our tamariki.

First Holy Communion and Confirmation
On Sunday, several of our learners celebrated the special Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation with the whole parish community. It was a beautiful and joyful occasion, led by Bishop Richard, and filled with prayer, song, and spirit.
We are so proud of our learners for the time, effort, and heart they put into preparing for these important steps in their faith journey. Congratulations to each of you on receiving your Sacraments of Initiation – a truly memorable milestone!
School Cross Country – This Friday (Weather Permitting)
We are planning to hold our school Cross Country this Friday 11am-12.45pm, as this is the only available time before court works and the extension of the building fence begins.
If it rains, we will need to cancel. We’ll confirm this decision on the day and update whānau as early as possible.
Please ensure children come prepared with:
- Running shoes
- School sports uniform
- Water bottle
- A warm layer if needed
Families are very welcome to come along and cheer!
Thank You – CommuniTEA Support
A heartfelt thank you to our Young Vinnies, their families, and the wider school community for your support of CommuniTEA last Friday.
It was a beautiful example of living our faith in action – giving back to others and building connections within and beyond our school. We are so proud of the kindness and service shown by our students. Thank you for your generosity!
Enrolments for Younger Siblings – 2026 & 2027
Our school roll is currently full until Term 2, 2026.
If you have younger children due to start school in 2026 or 2027, and they have older siblings already at St. Pius X, please let the office know as soon as possible. This helps us with future planning and ensures a smooth start for your tamariki.
Playhouse Theatre Show – Tuesday 10th June
Our learners from Years 1–6 will be heading out to enjoy a fun-filled Playhouse Theatre production on Tuesday 10th June, from 1:30–2:30pm at St Luke’s.
We’ll be walking to the theatre together and returning to school in time for the end-of-day collection from the Church.
Please note that our Years 7/8 learners will be attending the Catholic Interschool Sports Tournament on this day and will not be attending the theatre performance.
It promises to be a fantastic afternoon for our junior and middle school – we’re looking forward to it!
Duffy Role Model Assembly – Next Week
We’re looking forward to our Duffy Role Model Assembly next week on Wednesday 11th June at 11am.
This is always a special event where we get to hear from an inspiring guest and celebrate the joy of reading. Our learners will also receive their Duffy books for the term – a highlight for many!
A big thank you to Whaea Paula for all her work in organising this celebration of reading and learning.
Building Update
Our building project is on track, and we’re excited to share that our new classroom spaces and court should be ready for the start of Term 3.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding throughout the building process. We’re looking forward to seeing our learners enjoy these new spaces very soon!
🎤 School Karaoke Night – Tickets On Sale!
Please support our upcoming Karaoke night. Saturday 14th June
Come dressed as your best rock star – we can’t wait to see your outfits and hear your songs! 🎸🎤
Ngā mihi nui for being such strong partners in your children’s education.
Together, we’re creating a positive and focused environment where every learner can thrive.

Lunch Order Options – Supporting Local!
We have a few great lunch options available during the week:
🥙 Tuesdays & Wednesdays – Kebab Stop
You can now order lunches from the Kebab Stop on Urlich Ave. Orders can be placed directly at orders.kebabstop.co.nz and will be delivered to the school office in time for lunch. This is a convenient option for families, and a great way to support a local business!
🍕 Thursday – Pizza Thursday
Pizza can be ordered at school on Thursday mornings and is delivered in time for lunch. This is a fundraiser to support end-of-year camps and EOTC activities, so every slice helps. Thank you for supporting our tamariki!
🍔 Friday – Tommo’s Lunches
Our regular Tommo’s lunch orders will continue on Fridays as usual.
