Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton
🌿 Kia ora koutou,
It is hard to believe we have reached the end of Term 3! It has been a full and rewarding term, with so many moments that have shown what makes our St Pius X community special.
We have celebrated our faith together through our Academic Mass, St Pius X Feast Day and Daffodil Day Mass. We have seen incredible school spirit through our House Chant Competition, celebrated creativity through Book Week, Crazy Hair Day and our creative learning activities and enjoyed the energy of our school discos.
Our community has also shown tremendous generosity. Our Book Fair raised $825 for the school, our Daffodil Day activities raised over $800 and our efforts through the Wednesday Challenge saw St Pius X win $500 for changing the way we travel to school. Most importantly, these activities have given our children opportunities to live our values of Community, Faith, Service and Hope.
Thank you to our staff, students, families and wider parish community for everything you have contributed this term. I hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break and returns refreshed and ready for Term 4.
🎪 Mission Day – Tuesday 27 October
One of our much-loved St Pius X traditions, Mission Day, is coming up early next term on Tuesday 27 October.
The school holidays are the perfect opportunity for a little clean-out at home! Our junior classes will be running their popular stall and would love donations of good-quality used books, toys and bric-a-brac.
Please put aside any suitable items you find over the holidays and bring them into school when we return for Term 4. Your donations help make Mission Day a wonderful day for our children while supporting the important purpose behind it.
Have a safe and happy holiday, and thank you for another wonderful term together.
🏗️ Exciting Building Work Ahead
Our new building project is about to begin! Work will get underway during the school holidays, with the team preparing the site, undertaking trenching for utilities and beginning the foundations for our new hall.
Because of the nature of this work, there will be machinery, open trenches and construction activity around the school grounds. We ask that families please stay away from the school site during the holidays unless absolutely necessary. This will help the contractors work safely and allow them to make as much progress as possible before we return.
When school resumes, our already busy driveway will also have additional contractor and construction traffic. For everyone's safety, we ask families to please only come down the driveway on foot wherever possible and be particularly careful around vehicles entering and leaving the site.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. It is an exciting project for St Pius X and we look forward to seeing our new hall begin to take shape!

🍕 Pizza Day is Moving!
A quick heads-up for Term 4 — Pizza Day is moving from Tuesday to Thursday.
From the beginning of next term, our weekly Pizza Day will be held every Thursday. Please keep this change in mind when ordering and planning lunches.
Pizza Day is also an important little fundraiser for St Pius X, with all money raised going directly back to the school to support our students and school activities.
Thank you for continuing to support Pizza Day — and remember, Thursday is the new Pizza Day! 🍕
👕 Uniform Reminder – Wearing Our Uniform with Pride
Our school uniform is an outward sign of the pride we have in being part of St Pius X School. We ask families to please support us by making sure students come to school wearing the correct uniform each day.
For our winter uniform, students should be wearing grey or navy blue long socks, black shoes, school shorts or skort or the new school track pants, black shoes, school polo and the school jersey or jacket.
☀️ Moving to Summer Uniform
Students may begin wearing their summer uniform from the start of Term 4. We know that early spring weather in Hamilton can be unpredictable, so winter uniform may continue to be worn during the first weeks of the term.
From Tuesday after Labour Day, all students are expected to be in full summer uniform.
The upcoming school holidays are a great opportunity to take stock of uniform items, check what still fits and purchase anything your child may need for summer.
Thank you for helping our students look smart and wear their St Pius X uniforms with pride.
📞 Have Your Contact Details Changed?
Over the last few weeks, we have discovered that quite a few of the phone numbers and addresses we have on file are no longer up to date.
Having the correct contact information is really important, particularly if we need to reach you quickly regarding your child.
If you have moved house, changed your phone number, or updated any of your contact details within the last year, please let the school office know as soon as possible so we can update our records.
Even if you think we already have the new details, it is worth checking with us.
Thank you for helping us make sure we can always get in touch when we need to.
