Principal's Message
Miss Erin Clayton
🌿 Welcome to Week 10
Kia ora koutou,
Welcome to Week 10 and the final fortnight of Term 2.
As we approach Matariki and the end of the term, we take time to reflect on the many achievements, experiences and opportunities our learners have enjoyed over the past ten weeks. From sporting events and faith celebrations to classroom learning and community gatherings, it has been a busy and rewarding term.
Thank you for the support you continue to provide to our learners, staff, parish and wider school community. Together we create a school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

🤝 Thank You for Supporting Learning
Thank you to all the families who attended our Progress and Achievement Interviews this week.
These conversations are an important part of the partnership between home and school and provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate successes, discuss progress, and work together to support each learner's next steps.
We hope the mid-year reports and interviews provided a clear picture of your child's learning journey and the progress they have made so far this year. The introduction of the new curriculum and reporting format has brought some changes to the way achievement is reported and we appreciate the positive engagement and thoughtful questions from our community.
A special thank you to our teachers for the time and care they put into preparing reports and meeting with families. We know that when schools and whānau work together, our tamariki are best placed to succeed.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we continue to work in partnership to help every child flourish.

💬 Community Consultation – Final Opportunity This Term
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our community consultation.
As we begin considering the future strategic direction of St Pius X School, we would still love to hear from families who have not yet had the opportunity to provide feedback.
We invite you to reflect on the following questions:
• What do you value most about St Pius X School?
• What do you hope your child gains from their time at St Pius X?
• How well do we reflect our Catholic Special Character in the life of our school?
• What strengths do you see in our teaching and learning programmes?
• What opportunities do you see for us to improve?
• How can we strengthen partnerships between home, school, and parish?
• What would you like St Pius X School to be known for in the future?
Your feedback will help inform our future planning and the strategic direction of our school.
Please send your thoughts and ideas to:

🤝 Diocesan Fees Support
We understand that meeting Diocesan fees can be challenging for some families.
If you would like to discuss support options, please feel welcome to contact me directly. These conversations are always treated with care and confidentiality, and we are happy to work with families to find a manageable solution.

📚✨ Book Week is Coming!
There is plenty to look forward to when we return for Term 3, with Book Week taking place during the first week back!
A highlight of the week will be our Book Character Parade on Friday 24th July, where students are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character.
The upcoming holiday break is the perfect opportunity to start thinking about costume ideas. Costumes don't need to be expensive or elaborate—often the most creative ideas are made from items you already have at home!
We're also excited to be hosting a Book Fair during Book Week. As an added incentive, the winners of our Book Character Parade will receive a prize to choose from the Book Fair.
We can't wait to see the creativity, imagination, and love of reading on display. Happy costume planning!
📅 Looking Ahead
📅 3 July – Last Day of Term 2
📅 20 July – First Day of Term 3
The first week of term is our Book week. We will also be holding a book fair over this week.
We wish all our families a safe and restful term break and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term of learning.
