🌿 Kia ora koutou,
Welcome to Week 4 of Term 3.
As we move through the term, it is wonderful to see our school full of learning, laughter and opportunities for our tamariki to grow. Every day our learners continue to demonstrate our values of Community, Faith, Service, and Hope, both in the classroom and beyond.
One of the things that makes St Pius X such a special place is the willingness of our families to become part of school life. Over the past few weeks we have seen this in so many ways.
A sincere thank you to the parents, whānau, teachers and students who gave up their time to help plant 150 native plants in our school gully. This project has not only enhanced our school environment but will leave a lasting legacy for future generations of learners.
Thank you also to the families who came along to support our CathMaths team during their recent competition. Having whānau there to encourage and celebrate our learners means so much and reflects the strong partnership we have between home and school.
Behind the scenes, many of our parents and volunteers continue to give generously of their time to support upcoming events, including our school disco, pizza Tuesday and our role in hosting Communitea events. These occasions simply wouldn't happen without your willingness to help and we are incredibly grateful for the time, skills and energy you contribute.
It is this spirit of partnership that makes St Pius X more than just a school—it makes us a community. Thank you for everything you do to support our children and help make our school such a special place to learn and grow.

✝️ Keeping Our Sacramental Candidates in Our Prayers
Last Sunday marked the beginning of this year's Parish Sacramental Programme, with a number of our St Pius X learners beginning their journey towards receiving the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion.
These Sacraments of Initiation are an important milestone in the faith journey of our young people as they deepen their relationship with Christ and become more fully part of the life of the Church.
As a Catholic school community, we ask that you keep these children and their families in your prayers over the coming months. May they grow in faith, wisdom and love as they prepare to receive these special sacraments.
Please also keep the parish team and volunteers in your prayers as they generously give their time to accompany our young people on this important journey.
⛪ Join Us for our St Pius X Parish Mass
Our school is looking forward to hosting the 11:00am Parish Mass on Sunday 23rd August, and we warmly invite all of our school families to join us.
Our students have been preparing for this special celebration by practising the hymns and rehearsing the various ministries they will lead throughout the Mass. It is always a wonderful opportunity for our children to actively participate in the life of our parish and share their gifts with the wider community.
Following Mass, we will be hosting light refreshments, providing a chance to gather together, meet other families, and enjoy fellowship with our parish community.
If you are able, we would greatly appreciate families bringing a plate of finger food to share for morning tea after Mass. Your generosity is always appreciated and helps create a welcoming occasion for everyone.
We would love to see as many of our St Pius X families as possible there. Your presence helps strengthen the connection between our school and parish and shows our children the importance of coming together in faith.

🧥 Winter Wellness
A practical reminder.
🧣 Winter Weather Winter has certainly arrived! Please make sure children come to school with a warm jacket, named jersey and appropriate footwear. If your child is unwell, keep them home until they are feeling better as this helps protect everyone in our community.
📈 Attendance Matters
Thank you to all families for supporting regular attendance at school.
Every day counts. Consistent attendance helps learners make progress, build friendships, and fully participate in school life.
A reminder that if your child is absent, please notify the school as soon as possible. If you have concerns about attendance or need support, please contact us so that we can work together.
Being at school every day and on time gives every learner the best opportunity to succeed.

🪩✨ School Disco – Get Ready to Dance!
The countdown is on for our much-anticipated School Discos!
Our Student Leaders have been busy planning this year's events and have chosen two fantastic themes:
🚀 Years 0–3: Space
🎭 Years 4–8: Masquerade
These themes are simply for fun and to spark a little creativity. Children are welcome to dress up as much or as little as they like, or simply come along in comfortable clothes ready to enjoy a great night with friends.
The discos are also an important fundraising event for our school. Entry is by gold coin donation and there will be plenty available to purchase on the night, including:
🌭 Sausages
✨ Glow sticks
🍬 Lollies, drinks and other treats
Please remember to bring a little spending money if you'd like to purchase food or other goodies.
A huge thank you to our Friends of the School, Student Leaders and parent volunteers who are giving their time to make these evenings possible. Your support helps create memorable experiences for our tamariki while raising valuable funds to support learning opportunities across our school.
We can't wait to see everyone there for an evening of fun, friendship and dancing! 💙💛
